Who we are

The Australian General Practice Network is a registered charity and not-for-profit who supports General Practice to improve the health of the Australian community. 

 

AGPN’s Board of Directors is made up of General Practitioners from States throughout Australia. The key responsibilities of the Board are: 

  • Leadership and strategic direction

  • Governance

  • Financial and risk management.

 

Supporting General Practitioners

Working to achieve relationships:

  • between Specialists, Hospitals and General Practitioners to develop better models of care

  • between Specialists and General Practitioners for education opportunities

  • between Specialists and General Practitioners to trial new models of shared care, centre of excellence and easier referrals

 

Advocacy

  • AGPN advocates on behalf of its members at the Federal and State levels

  • Organising meetings with General Practitioners canvassing their comments on health policy, financing and services and seeking comment on alternative policies

Staffing Solutions

  1. Payroll management

    • Administering employees' salaries consisting of calculating employee salaries and tax deductions, administrating employee benefits and payment of salaries.

  2. HR Consultancy

    • Focus on the process of effectively utilizing personnel to obtain the goals of the organization by maintaining solid communication between employees and management, hiring and terminating employees, and coaching and mentoring staff.

    • Planning staffing, considering skills, knowledge, and attributes needed when hiring new employees.
